Job summary

FMOL Health is seeking a Patient Registrar at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa, LA to register patients in EMR, verify insurance, and collect payments while ensuring a best-in-class patient experience.

This role collaborates with physicians and nurses, supports referrals, manages cash, and updates charges and records in Epic. Candidates should have at least 6 months in relevant roles and a high school diploma; Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience: 6 months in customer service, billing, registration, finance, or accounting in medical settings; bachelor's degree substitutes for required experience.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Special Skills: Professional demeanor, excellent customer service, ability to multi-task, critical thinking, computer literacy, proficiency in Epic during introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately in Epic; monitor patient flow and ensure a best-in-class patient experience.
• Verify insurance coverage and determine patient financial responsibility; arrange payment plans as needed.
• Assist patients with access to government and community resources to improve access to care.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to ensure timely referrals and payor-compliant processing.
• Update and maintain patient records and charges; ensure accuracy of Epic data.
• Support clinic operations and cash handling; contribute to site collection goals.
• Contribute to performance excellence initiatives and support a culture of care.
