Job summary

Island Health in Anacortes, WA is seeking a Part-Time Registration Clerk to support patient admissions and front-desk operations. You will collect necessary information, enter data into Meditech, verify insurance eligibility, and assist callers with a courteous, professional approach.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, teamwork, and strong organizational skills in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum six months’ experience as an office receptionist; medical skill experience helpful.
• Experience with CPT, ICD-9 coding and medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specific information from patients to complete registrations (Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, Observation, etc.).
• Obtain signatures on forms.
• Process diagnostic orders into Meditech, including billing codes and ABN signatures.
• Verify insurance eligibility using electronic resources.
• Answer switchboard and department calls professionally and transfer or assist callers.
• Greet patients, visitors and coworkers and provide information and directions.
• Assist with clerical duties including mail, supplies, and cash handling.
• Provide clerical support for other hospital departments as needed.
