Job summary

WhidbeyHealth Medical Center is seeking a Patient Registrar I for its clinics. You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance data, schedule appointments, and enter information into the EMR system to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and supporting medical records with release forms and document scanning. Prior EHR experience is preferred; CHAA/CRCS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Highest education required: high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of medical office experience preferred.
• CHAA or CRCS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, provide directions and information.
• Maintain department schedule; schedule/re-schedule appointments.
• Answer calls promptly and professionally.
• Route messages and communicate information accurately.
• Make follow-up reminder calls for next-day appointments.
• Process mail and manage supply stock as needed.
• Register patients with demographics and insurance data in EMR.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations.
• Collect co-payments at registration.
• Support medical records with required release forms.
• Scan critical documents into EMR; copy records if needed.
