Job summary

Jackson County Memorial Hospital Authority in Oklahoma seeks a patient registration clerk to greet clinic guests and input demographic and insurance data into the EMR with accuracy.

Responsibilities include scanning documents, verifying insurance eligibility, scheduling referrals and appointments, answering phones courteously, and protecting patient confidentiality while working with the Office Supervisor and Outreach Clinics Management Department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Typing speed of 30-40 wpm required.
• Must be able to pass the “Clerical Ability Test” with 80% or better as given by the Human Resources Department.
• One to two years’ previous experience in the commercial health care environment required.
• Clinic experience preferred.
• Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and promptly and input demographic and insurance information into the EMR.
• Scan documents into EMR and ensure proper release of information when needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility and manage referrals and appointments.
• Answer phones courteously and satisfy caller requests.
• Protect patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely.
• Coordinate with Office Supervisor and Outreach Clinics Management Department on scheduling and documentation.
