Job summary

St. Luke's Health Network, Inc. is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Representative responsible for the full registration process for patients in outpatient and Emergency Department settings.

You will identify patients, transcribe orders, verify insurance, collect payments, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure a smooth patient experience. The role requires high school completion, excellent customer service and typing skills, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses preferred.
• Knowledge of health information system (Epic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and validate patient selection in hospital information system to maintain the integrity and accuracy of electronic medical records.
• Cross-train in all areas of location or region; campuses must be cross trained in outpatient and Emergency Department areas.
• Greet patients and visitors and provide friendly, courteous service to community and co-workers.
• Promote and help increase usage of MyChart patient portal and patient self-service capabilities.
• Contact SLPG practice or Network Prior Authorization Department to obtain required insurance referrals and pre-certs when not documented to decrease denials.
