Cuyuna Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Specialist-Registration to efficiently process patient registrations and gather accurate data at entry. You will interact with patients and families, ensuring privacy and compliance while coordinating with billing and coding teams.

Qualifications

Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office, EMR systems (EPIC preferred), and multi-line phone system.
Successful completion of data entry standard administered by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Human Resources Staff.

Responsibilities

Process patient registrations accurately at point of entry and collect pertinent data.
Collaborate with billing, coding, and registration staff to maintain registration accuracy.

A Day in the Life of a Patient Access - Registration (PAS)

The Patient Access Specialist-Registration role primarily involves processing patient registrations accurately and efficiently, ensuring all pertinent data is collected at the point of entry. This position requires constant engagement with patients and their representatives, handling sensitive information with discretion and adhering to privacy protocols. Challenges include navigating high-stress situations and managing complex data under tight deadlines. The specialist collaborates closely with billing, coding, and other registration staff to enhance registration accuracy and address discrepancies. A typical day involves multitasking between direct patient interactions, document management, and intra-departmental communication, all aimed at maximizing both operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
