Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Registration Coordinator to support patient check-in/check-out, collect demographics and insurance data, and manage payments within a medical office setting. This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to navigate EHR/PM systems.

Responsibilities include scheduling, patient engagement portal assistance, and occasional travel to other clinics while maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of previous professional office experience and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and e-mail experience.
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the telephones and greet patients in a courteous, efficient manner; route calls/messages to appropriate department.
  • Conduct patient check-in and verify demographics and insurance information; enter into PM/EHR.
  • Enter documents into the Electronic Health Record; scan documents into the system.
  • Collect co-pays/payments and manage end-of-day deposits and reconciliations.
  • Schedule internal appointments and walk-in visits; assist with Nurse triage.
  • Assist with Patient Engagement Portal registrations and invitations; travel to other clinics as needed.
