Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Patient Access/Registration professional in Morgantown, WV to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance data, and support billing workflows. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in a related medical field such as medical assisting or medical office administration.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic/billing/insurance information from patient/family and enter into registration/billing systems.
• Obtain electronic signature for consent to treat and patient financial obligations.
• Collect deposits/co-payments/deductibles/patient liability payments and provide receipts.
• Direct patients to Financial Counselor for assistance with payments.
• Prepare patient armband and balance daily receipts.
• Follow up on accounts per system flags and document in registration/billing systems.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and hospital policy.
• Communicate with hospital departments using the scheduling system.
