Job summary

Optum in Hastings, MN is seeking a Patient Access Representative Associate to greet patients and perform standard registration by collecting demographics and financial data for entry into the EMR. Location: 1175 Nininger Rd, Hastings, MN 55033.

The role involves insurance verification, cost explanations, and guiding patients through financial assistance programs. Requirements include 6+ months of office/hospital customer service, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30am - 4:00pm.
• Ability to attend 3 weeks of training within standard daytime hours upon hire.
• Must be 18 years of age OR older.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in person.
• Collect demographic and insurance information.
• Check in and interview patients to complete paperwork.
• Direct patients to their appointment or procedure.
• Assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Document issues and resolutions in the electronic medical record.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits information.
• Explain costs to patients and discuss financial assistance options.
• Collect co-pays or deductibles and respond to questions on financial programs.
• Provide customer service for inbound and outbound calls.
