Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Registrar to support outpatient services by collecting demographic and insurance information, and by handling payments at the point of service. The role provides a positive first impression of the hospital and reports to the Director of Patient Access.

Responsibilities include obtaining and verifying information, explaining forms to patients, coordinating with multiple departments, and ensuring timely data entry for accurate billing and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
• Meets with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation.
• Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission and exchange of information.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.

Education
