Qualifications

• Collects demographic, billing, and clinical information accurately.
• Explains forms and educates patients and family members.
• Verifies insurance benefits and precertifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and enter demographic, billing, and clinical information in registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
• Meet with patient or caregiver before/after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation.
• Communicate with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and other personnel regarding admission and placement.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain precertification/authorization as necessary; determine payments or refer to financial counselors.
