Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to collect patient demographic, insurance, and financial information for outpatient and inpatient services. The role verifies benefits, obtains authorizations when needed, and collects co-pays at the point of service to expedite admissions.

You will provide professional customer service, protect patient privacy, and support registration operations across shifts and multiple software systems.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and judgment under pressure.
• Ability to learn quickly and navigate multiple software systems.
• Excellent English communication (read, write, speak).

Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographic, insurance, and financial information for outpatient and inpatient services.
• Verifies benefits, obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.
• Determines and accepts required payments (co-pays, deductibles) or refers to financial counseling.
• Explains forms and provides excellent customer service.
• Protects patient privacy and confidentiality in all registration activities.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education.
• Works alternate shifts/areas to support department operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
