Stormont Vail Health is seeking a registrar for the Registration MSD team in Topeka, KS. The role handles patient check-in, demographic and insurance data capture, and sign-off on required documents.

You'll perform real-time eligibility checks, discuss patient financial responsibilities, collect copays, and support referrals and phone coverage. This is a part-time position with first shift hours in a patient-facing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in customer service.
• Knowledge of Patient Rights, HIPAA and Medicare Secondary Payer guidelines (preferred).
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and guests at Stormont Vail.
• Register patients with demographic, insurance, visit info, and obtain signatures.
• Verify patient identity for check-in and admission processes.
• Discuss finances, provide estimates, and collect payments.
• Collect patient copays and prior balances as appropriate.
• Assist patients with documentation and data entry by service area.
• Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
• Explain and provide required handouts.
• Validate real-time insurance eligibility.
• Support department duties such as referrals and phone coverage.
• Adhere to confidentiality and privacy policies.
• Complete clerical and office tasks as assigned.
