Job summary

Eskenazi Health is seeking a Registrar to be the first contact for patients, handling registration, insurance validation, and scheduling in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role supports patient flow across clinic, hospital, ED, and office environments.

The Registrar will ensure accuracy of demographic data, verify insurance eligibility, and coordinate with Financial Counseling as needed. Excellent customer service and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 1 year in business, office management or health information management

Responsibilities

• Registers patients by validating demographic information and insurance details
• Adheres to quality and productivity standards
• Collects prepayment and co-pays as defined by insurance
• Reconciles cash drawer and handles payments
• Directs patients to financial counseling when needed
• Interacts with clinical and non-clinical staff professionally
• Adapts services to patient age groups from neonatal to geriatric
