• Creates the initial electronic health record that serves as the foundation of the patient medical record.
• Checks in and registers patients; verifies demographic, guarantor, and insurance information and collects co-pays.
• Discusses financial information with patients and refers to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and other regulations; obtains required signatures.
• Schedules patient appointments and provides test preparation and arrival instructions.
• Provides welcoming, professional customer service and assists patients with transportation, directions, and interpreter services.
• Monitors and works assigned electronic health record work queues.
