Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access Representative to support the Emergency Department and outpatient registration.

You will identify and register patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure a seamless patient experience and accurate claim submission. The role requires excellent customer service, strong computer skills, and familiarity with Epic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate/degree in healthcare field preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses preferred.
• Knowledge of health information system (Epic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and register patients accurately in hospital systems for outpatient/ED visits.
• Verify insurance, collect point-of-service payments and manage queues.
• Coordinate with practices and departments to ensure smooth patient experience and claims submission.
• Cross-train across locations and during shift coverage in ED and outpatient clinics.
• Greets patients and visitors and provides courteous service.
• Promote MyChart and patient self-service tools to engage patients in care.
• Assist with Welcome Kiosk and On My Way technology at locations.
