Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Health Information Clerk for the Illinois Masonic IL ED Arrival area. Responsibilities include patient check-in, insurance verification, and accurate data entry into the EPIC system.

You will assist with co-pays and patient flow while maintaining HIPAA privacy and high service standards. The role requires a High School Diploma, strong customer service, and ability to work 11:00pm-7:30am shifts plus weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare registration and patient intake preferred.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR and insurance tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create initial electronic health records and ensure patient identity and safety.
• Check in patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays.
• Explain insurance basics and help refer to Financial Advocates.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information.
• Schedule appointments and provide test prep and directions.
• Provide welcoming service and manage telephone inquiries.
• Manage EHR work queues following department processes.
