Job summary

Baptist Health South Florida is seeking a Patient Access Operations Supervisor to oversee daily departmental operations, ensuring efficient patient flow across service lines, and coordinating staff across multiple sites.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree (or 4 years supervisory experience), knowledge of insurance benefits and HIPAA compliance, and strong interpersonal and communication skills; CHAA preferred, bilingual a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Healthcare required with a minimum of 3 years in a Supervisory and/or Lead capacity, preferably in Patient Access.
• In lieu of an Associate’s Degree, a minimum of 4 years’ supervisory and/or lead experience in Patient Access or healthcare setting with extensive knowledge of insurance benefits, collections, authorizations/pre-certifications.
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal & written), and customer service skills required.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Able to understand and implement performance improvement (collect data, analyze data, identify processes, and implement process change).
• Ability to multi-task work assignments in a high volume, fast-paced stressful environment.
• Proficient using all Patient Access applications and Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of medical necessity compliance guidelines, ICD-10 and CPT code structure.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines to include HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, etc.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.

• Oversee all daily departmental operations through proactively addressing employee, patient, and organizational needs.
• Build positive relationships within Baptist Health South Florida.
• Oversee patient flow across multiple service lines, departments, offices, and sites.
• Ensure effective staff management and coordination and prioritization of work assignments.
• Practice the philosophy of service excellence in providing professional, compassionate and friendly service.
