Job summary

Intuitive Health is hiring a Part-time Patient Access Advocate for mid shifts to greet patients, verify insurance, and manage registrations. You will collect copays, enter data into the EHR, and provide clear directions and support to patients and families in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, strong customer service, and the ability to multitask while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Prior healthcare or customer service experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
• Flexibility and technical capacity.
• Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months healthcare setting or 1 year customer service experience.
• Basic understanding of insurance preferred.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and billing codes preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills and customer service required.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Registration functions including updating demographics, insurance verification, collecting point-of-service payments, and documenting in electronic systems.
• Provide high level customer service at time of service and assist with wayfinding for patients and visitors.
• Greet patients in a friendly, courteous, professional manner in person and by phone.
• Check patients in and out.
• Perform visit closure activities including collecting payment and follow-up tasks.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits using online verification or payer contact.
• Assist staff and patients with clerical duties such as copying, scanning and faxing documents.
• Create and maintain patient files.
• Answer and screen phone calls and direct messages.
• Provide patients with information such as address, directions, fax numbers, and website.
• Ensure front desk and waiting area are clean and presentable.
• Maintain a clean work environment, including basic housekeeping tasks when needed.
• Foster a friendly, respectful work environment and patient-centered care.
• Follow HIPAA policies and company policies.
• Attend staff meetings and huddles as required.
• Non-exempt; schedule based on operational needs.
