Job summary

AdaptHealth is hiring an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately.

You will work with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements, confirm eligibility, and move the intake process forward smoothly in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field required.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred.
• Healthcare experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and payer guidelines to determine patient eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and provide alternatives.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes and maintain accuracy in documentation.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems to obtain and manage documentation.
• Support intake process and ensure proper shipping/delivery methods per procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and assist across teams as needed.
