Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking a Registration Clerk to support patient intake and registration processes at our facility. The role involves gathering personal, demographic and insurance information, verifying patient identity and assisting with forms, and explaining plan benefits and patient responsibilities.

The position emphasizes high levels of customer service, accurate data entry, and coordination with billing and clinical teams to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable with computer use, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Medical terminology/prior experience with healthcare.
• High school diploma/GED preferred from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or responsible party to obtain personal, demographic, insurance, and medical information prior to services.
• Confirms and manages patient identity and assists with completion of required forms.
• Creates a transparent financial experience including generation of an estimate preservice, explains patient liability, and collects prepayments on outstanding balances.
• Correctly transcribes and validates orders, as well as schedules walk-in appointments.
• Advocates for patient engagement, including activation of MyChart.
• Monitors environment and attends to patients, families and visitors to create a positive registration experience.
• Assists with wayfinding and connecting patient to care.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
