Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the initial contact for patients, gathering and validating information, coordinating scheduling, and supporting registration and billing processes. The role promotes a positive patient experience, provides financial counseling, and helps with navigation while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include collecting data for records, entering it into the EHR, scheduling, verifying insurance eligibility, and generating estimates

Qualifications

• Basic data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced metric driven environment that is patient centered.
• Fundamental understanding of KPI's and thresholds to measure productivity.

Responsibilities

• Obtain required information for hospital and physician records; enter patient information into EHR.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information; comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Transcribe and validate patient orders.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments in the EHR.
• Verify and assign insurance coverages based on eligibility responses.
• Explain patient liability and collect prepayments or outstanding balances.
