Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Georgetown Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Patient Access Representative to collect demographics, verify benefits and collect payments at the point of service. This PRN role focuses on welcoming patients and expediting admissions with accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities include entering data, distributing forms, obtaining authorizations, and coordinating with financial counseling as needed. Strong customer service and privacy adherence are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates critical thinking and decisive judgment.
• Works with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
• Rapidly learns and navigates multiple software systems.
• Excellent English reading, writing and speaking skills.
• Able to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographic, insurance and financial information for services.
• Verifies benefits and obtains authorizations as needed.
• Collects co-pays/deductibles at point of service to speed admissions.
• Provides a positive first impression of the facility.
• Explain forms, documents and educational handouts to patients and families.
• Verify insurance benefits and precertifications as necessary.
• Determine payments and refer to financial counseling when appropriate.
• Communicate professionally in person and by phone with clear instructions.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all activities.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
• Work alternate shifts/areas as needed to support operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
