Job summary

Community Hospital is seeking a PRN Patient Access Representative to register patients, verify benefits, and collect payments while delivering friendly, accurate service. This role supports scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk duties to ensure a smooth patient arrival.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient registration and verification preferred.
• Ability to type 40 WPM and enter data accurately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Pre-register 98% of scheduled patients at least three business days in advance.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; obtain pre-authorizations as required.
• Collect co-payments, deductibles, and co-insurance at the time of service.
• Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information in the system.
• Provide premier customer service at the front desk and assist with scheduling as needed.
