Job summary

Lifepoint Health’s Highpoint Health - Trousdale Medical Center seeks a Patient Access Representative to welcome patients, collect accurate demographic and insurance data, and coordinate with departments to support smooth registration and patient flow.

You will verify coverage, collect payments, and assist with pre-certs, while maintaining privacy and professionalism in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
Experience in patient registration, healthcare, or customer service is beneficial.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
Ability to stay calm and professional with upset patients and families.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors with a welcoming, professional demeanor.
Register patients for ED, outpatient, inpatient, and swing-bed services; collect and enter data accurately.
Verify insurance coverage and obtain precertifications or authorizations when needed.
Determine and collect co-pays, deductibles, and other payments; refer to financial counseling when appropriate.
Explain forms and educational materials to patients and families; protect privacy and PHI.
