Virginia Cancer Specialists, affiliated with McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, seeks an experienced Medical Appointment Scheduler for the Fairfax, Virginia administrative office. This role supports call center operations, triages patient inquiries, and manages scheduling and referrals in the EMR system.

The position emphasizes confidentiality, accurate messaging, and collaboration with clinic staff. Benefits include health, dental, vision, holidays, and a 401(k).

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–3 years’ experience preferably in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding a plus.
• Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Mansioni

• Answer incoming calls; assess caller needs and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Page clinic personnel as appropriate.
• Obtain and communicate messages accurately and timely.
• Schedule new patients, referrals, and returning patients in the computer system.
• Set up new/referral patients with proper documentation and coding.
• Cancel/reschedule appointments per physician schedule changes.
