Job summary

Virginia Cancer Specialists in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an experienced Scheduling Supervisor to manage all scheduling activities from our Administrative Office. This role supports coordination between physicians, patients, and staff and drives the development and oversight of scheduling procedures for providers and departments.

The position emphasizes adherence to the organization’s Compliance Program and requires strong leadership of scheduling staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum seven years office experience, preferably in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily activities of all scheduling duties.
• Obtains all information necessary to enter a new patient in the system, including demographics and complete insurance information.
• Maintains scheduling guidelines to coordinate provider and department schedules.
• Coordinates scheduling procedures with front office, clinical staff, insurance, and billing departments to ensure smooth transitions and accurate information.
• Trains new employees in the scheduling department and keeps staff informed on procedures.
• Assists in the supervision of schedulers and other non-licensed patient care providers as needed.
