Virginia Cancer Specialists, affiliated with McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, is seeking a full-time Medical Appointment Scheduler in our Fairfax, VA administrative office. You will handle a full range of telephone duties, schedule patients, and coordinate referrals in the EMR.

The role emphasizes patient confidentiality, accuracy in messaging, and collaboration with clinic staff. Entry-level experience welcomed; knowledge of medical terminology and MS Office is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls; assess needs and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Pages clinic personnel as appropriate and communicate messages accurately.
• Schedule new and returning patients in the computer system per physician/office guidelines.
• Enter insurance authorizations and referrals in EMR; maintain scheduling templates.
• May schedule outpatient appointments/tests and coordinate with staff as needed.
