Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED
• A four-year degree in business or healthcare highly preferred
• A minimum of five years patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting is required
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience in health care setting required
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred
• Knowledge of insurance plans (PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors
• Basic understanding of medical terminology
• Knowledge or experience using EMR
• Excellent customer service
• MS Office proficiency
• Fluency in English; written and oral communication

Responsibilities

• Lead daily patient access operations and site-specific medical records oversight
• Oversee patient registration quality, productivity and customer service
• Ensure daily registrations are accurate and complete
• Analyze data for patient access quality measures
• Manage payments and cash deposits; payroll and scheduling
• Coordinate with the registered dietician for nutrition services
• Train, coach and supervise patient access staff
• Maintain adherence to HIPAA, EMTALA and other regulations
• Collaborate with regional/corporate partners on projects
