Job summary

Emerus in Keller, TX is seeking a Patient Access Manager to lead daily patient access operations, oversee medical records management, and supervise the dietary function in coordination with the registered dietician.

The role requires strong registration and insurance verification experience, supervisory skills, and a solid understanding of EMR systems. You will ensure EMTALA compliance, accurate registrations, and effective teamwork with hospital partners.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED; a four-year degree in business or healthcare highly preferred.
• Minimum of five years patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting is required.
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience in health care setting is required; indirect leadership may be considered if a direct fit to the role.
• Emergency Department registration experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance plans (PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR experience is required.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and all applicable regulations for admissions operations.
• Direct all areas of registration to ensure quality, productivity, and customer service.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of daily registrations.
• Collect data for Patient Access quality measures and report findings.
• Ensure collection of payments and perform cash drawer reconciliations and weekly deposits.
• Prepare work schedules and payroll to align with budget and FTEs.
• Collaborate with the registered dietician on patient nutrition services.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of patient nutrition services and QA of medical records.
