Job summary

Emerus, Thousand Oaks & Shavano Park, is seeking a Patient Access Manager to lead daily admissions operations and medical records oversight in collaboration with the registered dietician.

The role emphasizes compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA and payer knowledge, plus staffing, training and performance management of the patient access team.

Collaboration with regional partners on special projects and continuous process improvement are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED with preference for a four-year degree.
• Minimum five years in patient registration and insurance verification in healthcare.
• Minimum two years supervisory experience in healthcare; indirect leadership may count.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance plans (PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily patient access operations and site-specific medical records management.
• Direct registration areas to ensure quality, productivity and customer service.
• Ensure accuracy of daily registrations and QA of medical records.
• Collaborate with dietician for dietary services and nutrition operations.
• Train, hire, and evaluate patient access team members; ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate with regional and corporate partners on special projects.
