Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Manager to oversee all aspects of patient access, including Registration/admitting, guiding staffing, and ensuring efficient, customer-focused service across departments.

The role emphasizes process improvement, data integrity in Meditech, collaboration with Revenue Cycle and leadership of staff training, with after-hours availability for critical issues to support service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as a minimum requirement.
• Five+ years hospital registration experience.
• Three+ years supervisory experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze performance data and use metrics to improve workflows, quality, and service outcomes.
• 3 years of progressive experience in healthcare registration, scheduling, pre-registration, clinic operations or revenue cycle operations.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and registration/financial systems and standard office software (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to de-escalate concerns while supporting patient access and experience.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple demands, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory leadership and timely support to supervising employees, including hiring, orienting, training, scheduling, evaluating and managing disciplinary situations.
• Ensure efficient and customer-oriented patient registration processes are used.
• Evaluate and redesign processes to ensure performance at the highest efficiency at all times.
• Respond professionally to quality service and/or customer complaints.
• Create and maintain departmental staffing schedules.
• Monitor departmental efficiencies.
• Attend workshops, seminars and meetings as scheduled.
• Ensure all departmental documentation is current, including job descriptions, evaluations, training, policies and procedures, DNV requirements and performance improvement.
• Provide departmental training and lead staff meetings on a regular basis.
• Be available and responsive to departmental issues after hours on an on-call basis.
• Audits and monitors system input for data integrity including Meditech data entry by supervising personnel.
• Develops and maintains positive working relationships with BMC personnel and maintains service excellence.
• Ensures that proper information and documentation is obtained by staff to facilitate the execution of billing and collection functions in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Cycle and other leaders to support revenue cycle initiatives, system enhancements, and change management impacting pre-registration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
