Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, VT, is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to lead the Registration team. The role covers pre-registration, registration, financial clearance, and insurance management to support department performance metrics.

Onsite position with day/evening/night shifts; occasional travel to Ticonderoga, NY for training and coverage. Requires an Associate's degree and CHAA certification; 3+ years in a leadership role in access/scheduling and strong customer service skills.

Formación

• Associates degree required; CHAA certification preferred.
• 3+ years in a leadership role in Access/Scheduling/Registration, Billing, or Financial Counseling with strong customer service orientation.
• Demonstrated ability to diffuse angry customers and maintain composure under pressure, with excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Act as shift lead, mentor, and provide updates to department operations.
• Oversee pre-registration, registration, financial clearance/advocacy, insurance management and health enrollment tasks.
• Onboard new hires and train staff on processes, policies, and procedures; mentor and provide follow-up training as needed.
• Monitor workload and performance; delegate tasks to ensure targets are met.
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain department resources and serve as escalation point for daily operations.
• Assist with staffing adjustments during peak volumes or short-staffing periods.
