Job summary

Grand River Health in Rifle, CO is seeking a Lead Registrar to support daily patient registration operations and staff training. The role focuses on accurate data entry, courteous patient service, and efficient front-desk workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in an entry-level leadership role, healthcare, customer service, patient registration, or computer-based tasks is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, maintain accuracy and confidentiality, adapt to changing priorities, and exercise sound judgment in a high-stress environment.
• Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively in English, and become proficient in EMR/EHR systems within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform reception, patient registration, and switchboard functions, including directing calls and paging physicians and staff.
• Audit patient accounts for accuracy and completeness, communicate findings, and help ensure daily registration tasks are completed.
• Train, mentor, and support new and existing registration staff, maintain training schedules and documentation, and communicate progress to the Patient Access Manager.
• Collect and accurately enter patient demographic and financial information into the EHR, explain registration procedures, patient rights, and financial responsibilities, and ensure appropriate billing information is documented.
• Support departmental quality improvement initiatives, assist with system updates as a super user, maintain department supplies, and perform other duties as assigned.
