Job summary

Optum is seeking a Patient Access Intermediate to welcome patients, collect demographic and insurance details, and guide them through registration in the electronic medical record system. This role supports accurate data capture for efficient scheduling and billing workflows.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and assisting patients with financial aid applications. Training highlights professional communication and customer service in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of customer service experience.
• 6+ months of revenue cycle experience in a healthcare setting.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work between 7:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patient in person.
• Collects demographic and insurance information.
• Checks in and interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork.
• Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.
• May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Documents issues and resolutions in the electronic medical record.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits information for payers.
