Job summary

Optum, in strategic partnership with Allina Health, seeks an on-site patient registration professional in Hastings, MN. You will greet patients, collect demographics, verify insurance, and guide patients to appointments, while assisting with scheduling and forms.

The role supports health equity via efficient administrative workflows. Responsibilities include handling co-pays, verifying benefits, and entering data into the EMR.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service in an office or hospital setting.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work Per Diem across 1st-3rd shifts.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Willingness to work at least 1 shift every two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients in person.
• Collects demographic and insurance information.
• Checks in or interviews patients to complete paperwork.
• Directs patients to their appointment or procedure.
• Assists in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers.
• Obtains signatures from patients as needed.
• Collects co-pays/deductibles and explains financial assistance options.
• Uses resources to complete accounts in work queues.
• Assists with information form requests and data gathering.
