Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Intake Representative to support patient access and registration across our New Jersey network. You will initiate patient intakes, schedule appointments, perform insurance screening and verification, and handle a high volume of calls and inquiries while ensuring accurate entry of charges.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year in a related healthcare or customer service setting, and strong organizational and communication

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience in a physician practice, hospital setting or directly related customer service setting.
• Good organizational skills; ability to set priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills; ability to accept direction and perform multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Initiate patient intakes and scheduling.
• Perform insurance screening and verification/authorization processes.
• Handle patient registration and a high volume of calls/inquiries.
• Enter patient charges and respond to medical records requests and billing inquiries.
• Prepare reports and maintain department records.
