Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to join the Patient Access Services Team. You will conduct quality interviews, verify demographics, coordinate pre-registration and registration, and support insurance verification and financial clearance.

The role requires strong communication, basic medical terminology knowledge, and computer proficiency, with flexibility for rotating shifts including weekend days and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends/holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication; customer service oriented.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge; proficient with MS Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility-based scheduling and bed planning.
• Handle pre-registration, registration, and insurance verification.
• Obtain patient consents/attestations and financial clearance.
• Screen Medicare/Medicaid and managed care patients for network status.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a positive patient experience.
• Complete EPIC Cadence/Prelude training within 30 days of access.
