Job summary

New Season Patient Access is seeking a Patient Registration Coordinator I to greet, register, and schedule patients in a healthcare setting. This role manages the financial health of the facility by collecting patient responsibility, verifying insurance, and posting balances.

A warm, compassionate personality and ability to work with a diverse patient population are essential, along with strict adherence to HIPAA and accurate data entry in our billing systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with medical insurance verification preferred.
• Ability to explain patient financial responsibilities clearly.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify insurance coverage and benefits for new patients.
• Perform weekly and annual eligibility checks to verify active coverage.
• Communicate patient financial obligations to help patients understand responsibilities.
• Process patient payments and update overdue balances in systems.
• Ensure submission of clean claims and reduce payer denials by adhering to policy.
• Assist patients with grant applications and use grant portals as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and arrange transportation for insured or grant-supported travel needs.
• Review daily and monthly reports to identify missing or incorrect system information.
• Protect PHI and HIPAA compliance in all duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
