Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist/Front Office at Brentwood AHN Neighborhood Hospital in Pittsburgh. You will serve as a liaison between patients, payers and health care teams, collecting demographics and securing out-of-pocket responsibilities to maximize reimbursement.

The role requires ensuring accuracy, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining authorizations where needed, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Fluency in English is required (Spanish helpful in some markets).
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare and Medicaid plans is expected.

Responsibilities

• Verify and enter complete demographic information to facilitate billing.
• Verify insurance benefits and payor information for patient accounts.
• Collect out-of-pocket amounts and pursue timely collections.
• Provide excellent customer service at the front desk and over the phone.
• Scan and file medical records and coordinate patient transfers when needed.
