• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet timelines.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Previous hospital admissions experience is preferred.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or representatives to obtain demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Coordinate with Admitting department and PBX/reception areas.
• Operate computer to input and retrieve data.
• Communicate with diverse populations using age-appropriate techniques.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects within specified timeframes.
