Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a patient access professional to perform Medicare compliance reviews, estimate patient financial responsibility, and coordinate with insurance providers for pre-authorizations. You will register patients, collect demographics, and ensure accurate insurance details while maintaining excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include coordinating between departments, documenting payer conversations, and covering PBX/cashier duties as needed in a full-time Day shift role

Qualifications

• Medicare compliance knowledge.
• Ability to verify eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Strong knowledge of patient demographics and insurance details.
• Experience with hospital or medical office settings.
• Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue notices as needed.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and collect payments or arrange plans.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorizations and provide required information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations within timeframes.
• Register patients accurately and minimize duplicate medical records.
• Collect demographic data and confirm insurance details.
• Provide coverage across assigned areas and arrange relief when needed.
• Communicate with clinical, ancillary, and access departments to improve patient experience.
• Document all patient/insurer conversations and payer decisions.
• Assist with PBX coverage and perform cashiering duties.
