Job summary

Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a PRN Customer Access/Financial Services professional to support Medicare compliance, patient registration, and insurance verification. The role emphasizes accurate billing, pre-authorization coordination, and exceptional customer service within a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities include collecting demographics, verifying benefits, and managing communications between clinical and access departments to enhance the patient experience.

Qualifications

• Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs.
• Ability to operate general office machines such as computer, fax machine, printer, and scanner.
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work efficiently.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written.
• HIPAA privacy rules understanding and discretion when handling patient information.
• Experience with EMR systems and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABNs as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects or sets up payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Register patients for services with accurate demographics and insurance details.
• Provide coverage for PBX and cashiering duties as needed.
• Maintain excellent customer service and document conversations with patients and payers.
• Attend department meetings and support team communication.
