Job summary

Texas Children's is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure timely and accurate patient registration, acting as a liaison between patients, payers, Medical Records, and Patient Financial Services. You will collect demographic data, verify coverage, and estimate patient liability to maximize hospital reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 6 months experience as admissions representative/counselor.
• Associate or bachelor's degree may substitute the experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtains, verifies, and enters complete demographic information for patient accounts.
• Searches the patient accounting system to locate or create master records without duplicates.
• Verifies insurance benefits and enters correct payor and plan in the system.
• Provides patient estimates of liability and coordinates with financial counseling as needed.
• Registers patients in advance when possible and secures authorizations as required.
