• Bachelor's degree.
• Three years of related experience in insurance, managed care referral processes, private physician's office practice or hospital registration setting.
• MassHealth Certified Application Counselor.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all incoming referrals for consultations from physician practices, hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare facilities.
• Compiles clinical data including physician notes, patient history, labs and imaging from referring physician or facility.
• Arranges and schedules consultation appointments, confirms demographic info and verifies insurance eligibility.
• Verifies insurance, checks benefits, and determines patient responsibility from payer.
• Collaborates with Social Work, Case Management, Billing and Contracting for cohesive patient support.
