Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a dedicated Financial Clearance Specialist for the Emergency Department. You will handle Medicare compliance reviews, estimate patient financial responsibility, and coordinate with utilization management to secure pre-authorizations.

The role requires strong communication skills, knowledge of HIPAA and CMS guidelines, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Day shifts, full-time, on-site in Shawnee Mission, KS.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare customer service or financial clearance is preferred.
• Familiarity with CMS, EMTALA and HIPAA guidelines.
• Knowledge of insurance benefits and pre-authorization processes.

Responsibilities

• Review Medicare compliance and issue notices as needed.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and set up payment plans.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorizations and verify benefits.
