Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Birth Center admissions specialist in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. You will perform Medicare compliance reviews, determine patient financial responsibility, and manage pre-authorizations and patient registration to ensure smooth, compliant access to services.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in healthcare preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and ABN notices.
• Create estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization and provide logistics info.
• Contacts insurance companies to verify eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Register patients for all services with accurate demographic and insurance data.
• Provide coverage during shifts and facilitate communication between departments.
• Attend department meetings and support PBX and cashiering tasks.
