Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred.
• Understands Critical Moments of Service techniques and standards.
• Basic knowledge of Epic preferred.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers and forwards calls to appropriate personnel.
• Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules patient appointments.
• Registration in Epic and check-in processes; loads and updates patient demographics and scans insurance coverage.
• Collects co-payments and other self-pay obligations and posts in Epic.
• Performs cashiering and daily cash balance tasks and cash-handling procedures.
