Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking an on-site Receptionist to support clerical and Epic scheduling in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The role involves greeting patients, verifying demographics, registering in Epic, collecting co-pays, and directing inquiries with a strong emphasis on patient privacy.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent and prior medical reception experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous medical reception experience is required.
• Internal Mercyhealth candidates must have 2+ years in Receptionist 1 or cross-trained in 3+ clinics/locations.

Responsibilities

• Answer and route incoming calls, provide information about Mercyhealth services, and forward messages to the correct staff.
• Register patients in Epic, verify demographics, scans, and insurance, and collect co-pays when applicable.
• Assist with MyChart signup and messages, maintain patient privacy, and support scheduling and check-in processes.
• Maintain lobby areas, assist with faxing, mailing, and inventory of office supplies; perform other clerical duties as needed.
