Job summary

Pomona-Valley-Hospital-Medical-Center is seeking a patient access clerk to greet patients, execute check-in/check-out, and manage registrations and scheduling in accordance with system guidelines. You will scan forms, IDs and insurance cards into the EHR and collect applicable co-pays or co-insurance, while processing self-pay cases per protocol.

Secondary duties include handling telehealth enrollments, verifying insurance eligibility, and assisting with admissions to the Patient Portal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of working with an electronic health record (EHR) and medical terminology; understand insurance eligibility; strong customer service.
• Able to manage busy phone lines and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out.Registration and scheduling per system guidelines.
• Scan forms, IDs, and insurance cards into the EHR. Collect co-pays or co-insurance.
• Process self-pay patients per protocol; assist with Telehealth appointments.
• Answer incoming calls and route or message in the EHR as needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility using automated systems; help enroll patients into the Patient Portal.
• Support medical records and referrals processing; perform other duties as assigned.
